Saucony designs high performance running shoes and gear for runners and fitness enthusiasts. Visit us to shop our full collection of running shoes, apparel and running accessories. A lot of running sneakers used to be made with a chunk of cardboard inbetween the upper and midsole. It’s what kept the sneaker from getting destroyed. But Saucony introduced a sneaker that didn’t have this process. It’s called a “slip-lasted” shoe, and gives a better, softer feel to the sneaker.

The word Saucony comes from the Lenni Lenape Native American word “saconk,” meaning “where two rivers run together.”

In 1898, four young businessmen opened the Saucony Shoe Manufacturing Company in Kutztown, Pennsylvania.

Saucony’s shoe boxes once had the phrase “sock a knee” printed on them, which represents the correct pronunciation of the company’s name.

The Saucony brand logo represents the Saucony Creek’s constant flow, and the boulders lining its creek bed. The company is a popular racing shoe producer, making track spikes and cross country racing flats. Saucony also makes shoes for specific track and field athletics events.
